Using anche in Italian
Unlike the English adverb “too”, anche is never used at the end of a sentence. You’ll find it just before the action or the person to whom it is related.
| Federico non è solo gentile, ma anche onesto. | Federico is not only kind but also honest. |
| Anche tu vai a letto tardi la sera? | Do you also go to bed late at night? |
| Anche Jim verrà alla festa. | Jim’s coming to the party, too. |
Another popular synonym for anche is pure, but it’s less commonly used.
