Italian phrases for emergencies

Note: If you are in Italy and ever find yourself in an emergency, these are the Italian emergency numbers you can dial:

  • 112 ā€“ for Carabinieri (military police), see below
  • 113 ā€“ for Polizia (police)
  • 115 ā€“ for Vigili del fuoco or Pompieri (fire brigade)
  • 118 ā€“ for calling an ambulance

Note that if you canā€™t remember a specific number, 112 is the European unified number for emergencies and will work in Italy as well.
