Italian for people in a hurry
The article lo is used with definite masculine nouns that are singular and begin with these specific consonants or consonant clusters:
- s+consonant (st-, sp-, sb-, sv-, sc- etc.)
- “sh” sound (sci-, scia-, scio- etc.)
- z-, gn-, ps-, pn-, semi-vowel i and x–
- h–
A noun is something you can touch (a flower, a chair) or an idea (freedom, rage).
Singular means “one of a group”: an apple, one coin, the cat.
