Credo in un solo Dio,
I believe in only one God,

Padre onnipotente,
(the) Father almighty,

creatore del cielo e della terra,
creator of heaven and earth,

di tutte le cose visibili e invisibili.
of all visible and invisible things.

Credo in un solo Signore, Gesù Cristo,
I believe in only one Lord, Jesus Christ,

unigenito Figlio di Dio,
one and only Son of God,

nato dal Padre prima di tutti i secoli:
born from his Father before all centuries:

Dio da Dio, Luce da Luce,
God from God, Light from Light,

Dio vero da Dio vero,
true God from true God,

generato, non creato,
conceived, not created,

della stessa sostanza del Padre;
of the same substance of his Father;

per mezzo di lui tutte le cose sono state create.
through him, all things were created.

Per noi uomini e per la nostra salvezza discese dal cielo,
He descended from heaven for us men and our salvation

e per opera dello Spirito Santo
and by the work of the Holy Spirit

Fu crocifisso per noi sotto Ponzio Pilato,

Il terzo giorno è risuscitato,
The third day he came back to life,

secondo le Scritture, è salito al cielo,
according to the Holy Scripture, he ascended into heaven,

siede alla destra del Padre.

And once again he will come, in glory,

per giudicare i vivi e i morti,
to judge the living and the dead,

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
